Guest blog from anonymous leader of Crux33:
The Face of God
Today I tell of the journey I took while searching for the face of God—too see Him more clearly—to further comprehend His love. It began at first dawn as I was sitting in my family room tearfully worshiping and waiting for God to reveal more Himself to me. Upon closing my eyes, I clearly heard Him say, “Seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” In response I cried out, “God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.” This longing persuaded me to start my search by looking in the sanctuary to see His power and His glory; thus, my journey began.

What are “CruxGroups?”
Through CruxGroups, students have the opportunity to learn and experience life-transforming truths from Scripture. In this dynamic and personal learning environment, students will be placed with up to 6 of their peers and matched with an adult leader. This leader acts as a spiritual guide and mentor for the group for the duration.
From September to June, these mentors and their groups of students will meet for accountability, encouragement, instruction, discussion, and fun. This year CruxGroups will be running for the entire 2010-2011 school year, except for a 6 week break in mid-Dec and January. (no Cruxgroups on 11/24, 12/22-1/26, and 4/6).

Another great day serving others in Jesus’ name.
To fill you in on what it was like, czech out update from guest blogger, sophomore Hanna Smith:
Whoa.
Wow.
What the heck?
(and occasionally an eww)
Those were all the things I kept thinking during our time today at the Second Harvest Food Bank.
We started off sorting plums to give to out to people who can’t provide food for their households and children. Quickly, I realized that there are people out there who really need this food. They depend on this food and the people who share it with them.

Being a really picky eater and not having the appetite of a highschool boy, I complain alot about what I have… and serving today just “slapped me in the soul” with being thankful for what God has blessed me with.
I loved how everyone who worked at the food bank had a smile on their face. It was clear that it was not considered a job to them. Instead, it was a passion to help and give to others. Even everyone in the Crux33 crew seemed to never stop smiling.

All in all today was pretty fun for something considered “work” and I’m excited for the next serve day. When is that again ??
Love,
Hanna
